People often ask what makes Nectar special.

When we opened Nectar, we didn’t just want to create another cocktail bar and restaurant. We wanted to build a space where people genuinely enjoy being. Somewhere you can walk through the door and instantly feel at ease. Somewhere warm, relaxed and welcoming, without it feeling forced or overly polished. We’re a family-run business, and that shapes everything. Not in a loud way, but in the way we care. The way we notice things. The way we hold ourselves to a high standard because it’s personal.

Hospitality, to us, has never been transactional. It’s not about turning tables quickly. It’s not about doing the minimum required. It’s about connection. It’s about understanding that when someone chooses to spend their evening with you, that means something.

Over the years - working in different restaurants, different roles, even outside hospitality for a while - one thing became very clear: people might forget exactly what they ordered, but they will always remember how they felt. That’s what we focus on.

Great hospitality is being present. It’s reading the room. It’s knowing when someone wants a chat and when they just want a quiet corner and a good drink after a long day. It’s making a birthday feel special even if they didn’t tell you in advance. It’s welcoming someone dining alone in a way that makes them feel completely comfortable.

It’s small, thoughtful details. And consistency. Showing up every day with the same energy. The same care. The same intention, even when it’s busy. Even when it’s hard.
